The Samsung SM-G900F continues its tour across benchmarks – the latest find comes from the AnTuTu team, who spotted the device in their benchmarks and claim it is the anticipated Galaxy S5.
The SM-G900F is powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset with 3GB RAM, same as the Galaxy J, but with a revision of the 800 chipset, the 8974AC. There the Krait 400 processor is clocked at 2.5GHz rather than the standard 2.3GHz. There's only one official device with this version of the chipset so far, the Gionee Elife.
That's not the only difference – the AnTuTu team claims that the resolution was detected as 1080p only because Samsung locked the screen at that resolution (not unlikely since this is clearly a test device).
The phone was running Android 4.4 too, which hasn't yet been ready for TouchWizzified devices (just for the Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition).
Finally, the camera was reported as a 16MP shooter – the only Samsung device with that resolution is the Galaxy S4 Zoom, but that has a completely different chipset and screen.
Samsung has been rumored to be working on its own 16MP sensors with ISOCELL technology, presumably aimed at the company's next-gen flagships.
So, is the Samsung SM-G900F really the Galaxy S5? It could be just another version of the Galaxy S4 – there are plenty of those to go around. The prevailing rumors indicate that the S5 will be announced early next year, as early as January, so should find out soon enough.
